I'm reading Anno Dracula by Kim Newman, its about Dracula marrying Queen Victoria, becoming a Prince and recruiting a bunch of londoners into vampires. It's a cool book, lots of references to 19th century literature. There are some sequels I'm gonna read afterwards, one of them has a vampire Andy Warhol and another has vampire James Bond.

I'm rereading Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. It's about demon aliens who make the Earth into a utopia so that the next stage of mankind can join space civilization.

im bringing this thread back to talk about books. i started reading this elric of melnibone omnibus i got from a book sale for $2 and its good if u like sword and sorcery crap with fruity names like "Dyvim Tvar" and "Theleb K'aarna" and jeweled cities of ancient kingdoms and that kind of thing. i'm also reading this book called little infamies which is all these interconnected stories about people in a rural greek village, it's funny if you like greeks getting owned a lot in cool ways.

earlier this year i read JR by william gaddis which is a 700ish page novel that is almost all dialogue, and it has lots of funny jokes about the soul destroying mechanisms of finance capitalism.
