THE ULTIMATE GAME.
Well maybe not, but Lagoon was one of my first games and has a very special place in my heart, you can all check out the boss battles here:
Now I found out that Lagoon was a port of a Sharp X68000 game! The original had a slightly different plot, more backtracking/sidequests, you damaged things by ramming them off-center a-la Ys, and had better animation/more attacks for bosses. But these bosses were the otherwise the same...
Except the Evil Spirit.
The Evil Spirit is the final boss in the port, you fight him in a Gore-Cocoon, then he's a whip-handed gargoyle, and later he revives as a whip-handed gargoyle that can teleport. In the Sharp version he was...different.

He gets 4 forms in this version, and while the final form is totally lame, the others are wicked cool, especially that third form! You'll know it when you see it!
