I'm definitely going to have to play it again because I feel like it would definitely be a bit of a different experience knowing what you know by the end.
As for understanding, yeah, I've seen a lot of theories about what's going on in the game and damn I wish this board had spoiler tags.

I called that Booker would turn into to Comstock through time-shenanigans, but that didn't make it any less intense. Also, the part where they appear in Rapture just made made my jaw drop just because it was so unexpected. There's also the fact that Booker can use the bathysphere. Since the Welcome Center is destroyed, it's obviously during the events of the first game, which means the spheres are in genetic lockdown. Does this mean that Booker is somehow related to Ryan, or can he just use it because he's an alternate universe version of Jack? Also I kind of wish they had done more about the Luteces, but oh well. I guess too much exposition would have ruined the mystery.]

I have mixed feelings about it, to be honest. The ending was GOOD, but I keep comparing it to the twist at the end of the first game or the minerva's den expansion for 2, which I do still think were better. I'm hoping there's some good DLC for it.

did not see the ending coming, but the fight before it was quite meh, and most of the game did not live up to the hype.
got a free copy of xcom from it though, so don't really feel riped off.
