Dude in the video goes over his theory that the modern depictions of Neanderthals are completely wrong, that they were closer looking to other apes than they are to us.
I love the theory and I think it's really interesting, but I'm really doubting it's true, for the reasons presented in the video's top comment. I'm also pretty sure Human ancestors 0.5 million years ago, when the ancestors of Homo sapiens and Homo Neanderthalensis split off, they were already starting to take on the more modern-looking humanoid appearance, not being that ape like. Still, pretty fascinating concept I think

Woah, I just saw this a few hours ago and was thinking about making a thread for it.
Anyway it's probably hogwash, but it's damned interesting regardless. Quite a terrifying interpretation.

Yeah its a interesting theory but seeing as humans and neanderthals are both memebers of the human family of species they should look similar. In fact its belved that Neanderthals may be a sub spicese or even interbred with humans.

Yeah if neanderthals were super apelike then white people would look a lot less human.

ahahaha this is like pseudoscience bingo or something. No scientific qualifications, no citations, weird possibly racial undertones, it's got it all.
Someone ought to tell the guy that Australia was colonized around the time of 50000 years ago when he claims there were only like 50 people left in the Levant. I can't even go through all the silly bullshit on his website right now.

Does anyone else always interpret "themandus" as "The Mandus"?

Now I'm imagining the Matrix with Neander-beasts as the antagonists.
IT'S SO MUCH COOLER

Neoander: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge ice ages? Anthropomorpheus: No, Neoander. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.

I do like his point about the popular portrayal of neanderthals though. We have the technology to create incredibly realistic creatures from scratch; there's no need to corrupt their image with human actors.

hmm it's almost as if these things basically looked human, why do they portray them with actors instead of making them out of cgi which would probably be unconvincing anyway. also who the heck are you
